Portfolio Optimization Workshop and Cookbook

We are pleased to announce the MOSEK Portfolio Optimization Workshop, a one-day event on the theoretical and practical aspects of portfolio optimization using MOSEK. The workshop takes place at our location in Copenhagen (this is NOT a virtual event(!)) on Thursday, November 18th, 2021. Topics include:

• An introduction to portfolio optimization using MOSEK
• Advanced topics in portfolio optimization
• Tracking error and portfolio construction
• MOSEK licensing, developments and news.

There will also be ample time for discussions. We provide lunch for the participants. For the full program with abstracts see the poster:

Participation is free and open to all but we would like you to register via this form in order to keep track of numbers.

Announcing the workshop is also an opportunity to present the first version of the MOSEK Portfolio Optimization Coookbook, which provides an introduction to the topic of portfolio optimization and discusses several branches of practical interest from this broad subject illustrated with examples using the MOSEK Fusion API. Power flow problems - workshop summary

On February 28th we held the Workshop on Semidefinite Optimization in Power Flow problems.

• Spyros Chatzivasileiadis gave a talk about SDO methods for producing stability certificates for power systems and about the optimal power flow under uncertainty.
• Cédric Josz introduced the complex variant of the Lasserre moment hierarchy and discussed the possible advantages of a convex optimizer working directly over the complex numbers.
• Martin Skovgaard Andersen talked about numerical aspects and experiments with convex relaxations of optimal flow problems. In particular, he was able to solve the SDP relaxations of test cases with over 10K power buses using MOSEK.

MOSEK is once more one of the sponsors of the Applications of Optimization 2016 day (AOO 2016), the annual meeting of the Danish Operational Research Society (DORS).

The AOO day is meant to be an occasion for all operation research practitioners to meet, exchange experiences and find new inspiration. The program includes six application oriented talks delivered by experienced OR specialists. Maritime logistic and oil industry are among the topics.
